Top 5 Life Hacks to Help You Keep on Top of Housework

Everything is taking up your time, we know that, and it’s no surprise that you don’t want to spend any extra time on the housework than you actually have to. It’s not all doom and gloom however, with the advent of the internet it’s never been easier to find ways to save time on your much-loathed housework. So let’s look at some of the ones that I think are worth their salt and baking soda.

1.     Start your washing as soon as you get home

Don’t be lazy and leave your washing to critical load before you wash it.  Do it as soon as you get home from work if you have enough for a load. Also don’t let it enter you bedroom without first folding and or ironing it. The best way to encourage this is to set up an area near to where you do laundry to fold and organize your clothing

2.     Hang up your towels and robes properly

By this, we don’t mean slung and crumpled over your bathroom towel rack in a sopping twisted nightmare. We mean that you must flick it out and hang it properly allowing the air to dry all parts of the towel to avoid a musky smell, or worse yet, mold. If you have a bathrobe then same applies, consider setting up its own little hook to hang it on as they tend to take up a fair amount of space on your towel rack.

3.     Clean spills immediately

When we see a ring of coffee on the counter in the morning, it’s easy to think, “oh ill just leave that till I come back tonight”. Not realizing you’re running the risk of permanently staining your worktop over your laziness which could result in deductions from your deposit (if you have one) so just clean it up now!

4.     During the advert breaks, wipe your coffee table

This is something we are all guilty of, but letting your coffee table get into a state in this way is a surefire way to wear it out quicker, when you’re not busy engrossed in a TV show during the advertisements, take a jay cloth and some polish and give it a quick wipe down.

5.     Keep a mail sorter in your hallway

Don’t just dump a huge, apocalyptic stack of mail in your hallway without so much as a by-your-leave. Get a mail sorter to arrange priority mail into the front and to store it once read (if necessary).
