The name of the suburb is actually a wrongly spelled word it was meant to be spelled as Eugerra which is a contraction of the Yagara (an extinct language of Queensland, phrase) phrase “youarangarea which means literally “sing-play”. It refers to a ceremonial place used for dancing. This error was made by the government Lands office when the letter “u” was mistaken for “n”. Enoggera has a good community feel, with a blend of “old timers” and families in the community.

The area is very easy to discover because of the proximity to the Central Business District, and easy access to schools, shops, transport, and other social amenities are all fairly well within walking distance. The suburb is located about 6.5 kilometers from the Central Business District, it is well serviced by buses and train services, the homes are generally on good sized blocks and there are a lot of parks within the suburb. The Kedron Brook bike and walking paths are also within walking distance it is commonly described as a hidden Gem.

Another plus side about Enoggera is the fair price of a piece of property in the suburb, it is possible to buy a good home in Enoggera with a great lawn and whistles for a great price, simply because it is not as popular as surrounding suburbs. In general, the suburb is good for recreation and there are a lot of parks that give room for recreational activities, good schools, and the environment is safe and sound.
