Annerley is a suburb of the city of Brisbane, the suburb lies approximately four kilometers to the south of Brisbane central business district and has some picturesque views. Most of the suburb lies on an elevated ground and the ridge looks very beautiful. In early days, the area was rundown with many social housings but in present days Annerley can boast of apartment blocks and other various notable buildings along with buildings for the low-income residents.

The suburb was named at the end of the nineteenth century after a misunderstanding between Richmond, North Queensland and Richmond , New south wales, but the area needed to be named and according to historical records a member of the Stephens Divisional Board suggested that it be named Annerley after a town in England and his suggestion was accepted and the result is the present day name of the suburb, Annerley. There are a couple of schools in the area like the Junction Park State School which was opened at the end of the 19th century under the name of Thompson Estate Provisional School which gives a nostalgic feeling of when schools looked a bit different.

There is also the Mary Immaculate catholic primary school which has a pretty interesting story as well, it was established by Catholic nuns in the first year of the 20th century. This school also serves as a very important landmark and the wonderful gothic architecture is to be adored. In general, the area is great as it has great public transport, it is peaceful and quit.
